The Pitch

Big Grin is a shallow crater north of Noctis Labyrinthus on Mars, and nobody else cared about it either...until they found gold there in the year 0048 of the Martian Era, 2181 Earth-time.

Suddenly, this dusty patch of nowhere is the hottest spot in the Solar System, as thousands rush in to dig for their fortune, and governments get busy translating "beyond anyone's borders" to mean "inside of ours". Boomtown Big Grin is a seething kettle of trouble and opportunity, where fabulous fortunes rise and fall, banditry and politics are the same enterprise, and human life is worth a whole lot less than a bottle of real-grape wine.

GOLD ON MARS is a one-hour dramatic series, planned as a complete story contained in four seasons of ten episodes each. The screenplays for the series are a long-term project among several that progress in increments when I have free time.

This blog is a repository for progress reports, bits of work-in-progress, and bonus materials. Gradually it's meant to grow into a general sourcebook for the setting as well. Like any of my project pages, it's likely to be the divebombed with new material for a couple of weeks on occasion, then lie fallow for months, but that depends a lot on whether anyone is nudging for more.

As of 3/24/11, this is a placeholder while I reorganize my internet stuff. More details about Gold on Mars and samples of the work so far will be coming...at some time...after now.
